// c r o s s c o u n t r y - c h i c a g o //

I know I've already posted a million photos from Chicago, but I have more!  And I saved the best for the blog posts, so get ready.  <3

I've enjoyed following along with Henna and her family through instagram.  I've related to her words and the beauty of the moments she has captured.  Meeting her, I can say that represents her life realistically: she is just as sweet as she seems!  Mateo and boys got along well, although I'm sure even more so if we had more time to hang!  We only stopped in Chicago for the day.  When Henna said she wanted to meet us, I was so excited!  It's always interesting meeting people in "real life" although my experiences have always been full of connection and new friendships.  When Henna told me she was on the train to meet us, I was shocked, to be honest.  It was pouring out!  I can't even begin to describe how grateful I was for that.  She had her toddler with her (and a baby on the way!  yay!) and I think it says so much about her.  Henna is such an incredibly sweet soul and I know we will continue to be friends.  (come visit us, lady! and I'm sure we will be back in Chicago sometime soon!)

Like I've said before, I'm nervous to meet people sometimes because my two boys are so wild!  Their energy levels and drawn more than a few looks and I've been struggling to help them with their frequent tantrums.  Yet, mamas like Henna (and all the others i was able to meet) never looked at them strangely.  Instead, they were full of acceptance and understanding.  I am so grateful for all these new friends!

  1. I'm so thankful our paths crossed. You and Jimmy are such incredibly genuine and present people. There's no way I would miss the opportunity to spend a bit of time with you all. And OH, Elliot and Ash are beyond adorable! So funny to immediately recognize them. Who knows when or where, but I'm already looking forward to seeing you all again! I'll be thinking about you guys through this next transition of yours. xo
