//Giving Thanks//

It's Thanksgiving.  I'm sitting here, at my computer, in the still of the morning.  My children are still sleeping, which is an early Christmas miracle, and a single bird is forming melodies outside my window.  The houses, although still, are beginning to stretch and wake, as meals are begun with love at home.

We are so far from where we grew up, yet we've made a home.  We've made a home amidst sickness, strife and living in a studio with two children under two.  Our trials have been fierce, yet our "home" has been fiercer. It has fought with us and for us.

There are so many things I am thankful for and although they may be repeated by many people today, they are still true.  I am thankful for my husband and his love.  I am so grateful that he is a courageous dreamer, unafraid of what others may think.  I am over the moon grateful for two handsome boys with pretty hefty personalities.  I wouldn't have it any other way.

But, I wanted to make a deter from the norm.  Something absolutely wonderful happened to our family recently and it literally left us speechless.  When Elliot was hospitalized over an hour away from Santa Cruz, Jimmy had to take the week off.  We have had a numerous amount of setbacks since Jimmy was laid off of his job last winter.  We have not caught up and were already almost three months behind on rent!  I struggle to even type that!  It's a bit embarrassing.  But, such is life and sometimes things are difficult to admit.

Well, we decided to put it out there on that wondrous world of social media.  (ha!) We are blessed to be surrounded by people who take care of each other's needs.  Because someone else's needs are always shared.  Our burdens should never be carried alone.

Now here is where my mind was blown.  My heart was filled to overflowing.

We were given over 3000 dollars.

I'm not even sure of the exact amount.  But we are finally able to catch up on our immediate bills.

Now, friends- on this Thanksgiving, I am thankful for all of you!  I'm not sure I can accurately express how much you helped.  Financially, obviously.  But we all know the burdens of finances seep into our relationships.  And into our emotions.  All of that on top of Elliot being hospitalized?

You guys literally moved mountains and I am forever grateful.

thank you, thank you, thank you.
